Leadership

OUR LEADERS HAVE DONE IT BEFORE

Black-I’s  team has decades of experience in robotics, health and the professional cleaning business. Over the past 14 years, the team has developed unmanned ground vehicles and other robots for the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and a dozen universities, including work involving biologic and chemical agents. It has rolled out telehealth and tele-pharmacy related automation products in the U.S. and globally, and established service and support teams for technical implementation over a wide geographic area.

Brian Hart, Founder, CEO and COB of Black-I Robotics, Inc., and Black-I Environmental, lost his 20-year-old son John in Iraq, which led to an important role as a civilian advocate in armoring up American troops sent into combat.  Working with government agencies helped refine his technological skills and led to his leading role in the robotics industry, where he is an acknowledged expert.  He also has a decade in remote healthcare and pharmacy automation experience as Founder and CEO of a prior company that was sold to AmerisourceBergen. He has been Assistant Treasurer of Boston University managing its private equity portfolio and CFO of a regional wireless company in the Southwest. He has a BA and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Paul Pescatore, CFO of Black-I Robotics, was a senior executive vice president for finance and operations with a biotech company prior to joining Black-i in 2008. He has held senior positions in healthcare, medical equipment manufacturing and software firms. He is a graduate of Boston College and served with the U. S. Army in Europe.

Sean Sullivan, Vice President of Marketing, spent 10 years with IBM in Los Angeles, the Bay Area and at corporate headquarters before founding a variety of companies, including a medical device company, Automated Drug Distribution Systems, and a marketing company, both of which were acquired by larger firms. Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He has been involved with Black-I Robotics since 2008.

Edward J. Schmitt, General Manager of Black-I Environmental, is a specialist in using robots for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) applications, and an expert in introducing new products into existing businesses. He is Black-I Environmental’s main contact with our professional cleaning clients and facility managers, with the mission to help them profitably integrate PureTech robots into their operations. He also runs our service, support and education functions. Mr. Schmitt, a graduate of St. John Fisher College, has developed concepts of operation for numerous new equipment systems and has authored a series of deployment manuals. Among a range of consulting assignments, he recently helped a large Asian robotics company enter the North American market.

Ty Hookway is a consultant to Black-I Environmental based on his long, successful career in the commercial cleaning industry and his company’s role as our beta test site. Ty founded CleanCraft in 1995 in Rochester, NY, and grew the firm to be a regional building service contractor that handles all of upstate New
York. CleanCraft has more than 300 employees and is responsible for caring for more than 10 million square feet of office, university and health care facilities. Ty is committed to sharing with professional cleaning firms throughout the country his experience deploying Black-I Environmental’s PureTech robots.
